West Midlands Region Arson Reduction Team
The West Midlands Arson Task force has joined forces with Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire to create the West Midlands Region Arson Reduction Team (WMRART).
The WMRART meet quarterly at venues across the region, the aim of the meetings being to share best practice and work together to reduce running costs of projects and thus become more efficient in reducing arson in the region.
Mick Butters (Staffordshire) is the current Chair and Adrian Moore (Hereford and Worcestershire) the Vice Chair.
The WMRART will endeavour to improve its joint capability in securing funding to deal with arson across the region improving safety and quality of life in our communities.
Common Aims and Objectives
All parties have a vision to make The West Midlands region a safer place to live, work, visit and invest and supports the following strategic objectives:
- Reduce loss of life and injury arising out of deliberate fires
- Reduce number of deliberate fires across the region
- Reduce commercial, economic and social consequences of deliberate fires
- Provide best value service
- Strengthen working partnerships to prevent arson
The WMRART will continue to work with all other Arson Reduction Teams and Arson Task Forces from across the country.
